Realizing that we are just two months away from exchanging rings, and saying "I Do", brings a flood of emotions. It makes me reflect on just how much I love the man that I am going to marry, and how I want this amazing feeling that exists between the two of us to be present for all the years to come.
When two people enter into a relationship with devotion, trust, security, faith, individual and collective goals, openness and honesty, and an unrelenting desire to want the best for the other person, then from a rooted friendship is an awakening to what true love is. And if what follows is laughter, affection, spontaneity, and romance, then life only becomes sweeter.
For those of you who have not yet read how Mr. Wonderful and I met, you can read about it here and here.
I will end this post with a poem that will be present in our ceremony programs.

LOVE
I love you not only for who you are,
But for who I am when I am with you.
I love you, not only for what you have made of yourself,
But for what you are making of me.
I love you for the part of me that you bring out;
I love you for putting your hand into my heaped-up heart
And passing over all the foolish, weak things
That you can't help dimly seeing there,
And for drawing out into the light
All the beautiful belongings
That no one else had looked quite far enough to find.
I love you because you are helping me to make of the lumber of my life
Not a tavern, but a temple.
Out of the works of my every day, not a reproach but a song.
I love you because you have done more than any creed could have done
To make me good. And more than any fate could have done
To make me happy.
You have done it without a touch, without a word, without a sign.
You have done it by being yourself.
Perhaps that is what being a friend means, after all.

My invitation designer informed me that our wedding invitations are scheduled to arrive via FedEx, on my doorstep, tomorrow. I can't wait to have those gorgeous beauties in my hands...and then out in the mail!

And I love how the boutonnière reflects the same look.
I stood in line for 5 1/2 hours to vote on Tuesday, November 4th. Sure, it was total mayhem finding a parking space, and yeah, my feet were aching and at times I was "totally over it"...but this election was a crucial one and I wanted to be a participant of what will be known as one of the most momentous times in history.
To me, more than anything else, today is a time to reflect on just how far this country has come - how we united together to break through prejudice barriers...and personally speaking, it's moving to witness. For those who have lived through the civil-rights journey, I can only imagine how much it must feel to be alive to witness this breakthrough.
It's going to be a long day and night for news reporters, journalists, and the American public...but it's amazing to know that we are witnessing the beginning of a legacy and will be a participant of a historic event in which our attention today/tonight will be on honorable items of substance which impact our world {rather than on headlines that involve the latest celebrity to enter rehab. These "important" announcements will surely resume tomorrow}.
Despite who we have individually voted for, we all want a better America and I believe that our optimism and faith in our country will produce, in due time, the solutions that we hope to see.

“If there is anyone out there who still doubts that America is a place where all things are possible, who still wonders if the dream of our founders is alive in our time, who still questions the power of our democracy, tonight is your answer.”
“The road ahead will be long. Our climb will be steep. We may not get there in one year or even one term, but America, I have never been more hopeful than I am tonight that we will get there. I promise you: We as a people will get there."
It's going to be really hard to encompass all of my feelings into a short verbal sentiment of love, that doesn't exceed a few minutes. Perhaps I will write a second set of vows, expounding on my love and commitment, for Mr. Wonderful to read following our wedding day.

And I will put it on with utter excitement...
My bouquet will formally be introduced to my dress and the two will spend a lot of time together that day...
And then head off to begin our pictures...
And of course, do some sultry ones...
My dress will then be bustled before heading into the reception...
Where we will be introduced as husband and wife...
There will be lots of kissing, and lots of dancing...
And lots of unspoken words of admiration and love...
And after the night has come to an end...{well, you know}...
